Tummy tuck on short torso, and not a whole lot of extra skin, what should I expect? (photos)

Hi, thanks for your question and photo. Depending on your skin elasticity you would be a good candidate for either a radical abdominoplasty (which removes the maximal amount of skin, tightens the abdominal wall muscles and repositions the belly button BUT which in your case may leave a small vertical scar below the bikini line), a mini tummy tuck with liposuction (much more lipo and doesn't involve a scar around the belly button) OR liposuction alone (which if performed by a Specialist Plastic Surgeon highly experienced in this area can often achieve excellent results). If opting for a full/ radical tummy tuck I would certainly combine this with circumferential liposuction to assist in achieving the optimal "womanly" shape possible. I think you will benefit a great deal from a tummy tuck. This will help contour your abdominal region by removing the excess skin/fat. You will also probably need liposuction that can further help define your waist/back and hips. Not all of your stretch marks will be removed but there will definitely be an improvement. Make sure you have realistic expectations and please see a board certified plastic surgeon who can properly examine and evaluate you and recommend the correct procedures for you! Good luck!

You look like an excellent candidate for a tummy tuck with liposuction on the flanks.  Some technical details can help prevent the scar from migrating up and the lipo can help in the flanks.  Discuss these concerns with your plastic surgeon.  You have to feel comfortable that all of your concerns have been addressed.  

You should consider a mini tummy tuck to remove the lower stretch marks, with aggressive liposuction throughout the abdomen and flanks. You look like a great candidate for that. 

You look to be an excellent candidate for a tummy tuck with some liposuction of the flank (iliac) area.  Without the liposuction, you will look boxy and lose your shape especially from the back.  Stress to your plastic surgeon that you are willing to have a small vertical component to your bikini line scar if you are worried about the scar location.Good luck and seek out an experienced board certified surgeon.

Based on your information and photos, you may not even need a full tummy tuck; you may actually be a candidate for a mini tummy tuck which would allow liposuction and only partial excision of the skin below your belly button.
