I am only 2.5 weeks post-op but my Incisions look greaat aside from my belly button. Some folds of skin are darker in color, there is this yellowish goo that is stuck in a couple crevices and fluid leaking from it that is a bit stinky. I have been keeping it clean and dry with plain soap and water and using maxi pads under shirts as a dry dressing I change frequently. I am, Of course still wearing a compression band. I have no feeling in my belly button so I wouldn't know if it were sore or not.

A girdle is not absolutely necessary but it helps to have a binder of some sort for the support you need following surgery. You will need a blood thinner such as Low molecular weight heparin after surgery.
