My compression garment might be too tight. Is this normal?

You definitely do not want your compression to be too tight as this could cause more problems.  It should be snug enough to help reduce swelling and avoid fluid collections but not cause you pain and discomfort. 

Garments shouldn't cause numbness or pain.  It is likely too tight for you.  Leave it off til you see your PS and have it checked.  Garments should be supportive but not painful or so constrictive that they cause numbness.  Hang on to it, because sometimes, after your early swelling goes down, it may fit beautifully!

Compression garments should feel snug and supportive, but not too tight. From your description, yours is not fitting properly. I recommend speaking to your surgeon about your concerns to determine if a different size is needed.

Be very careful with tight garments after TT. You may have some swelling and your garments may tighten up a bit. better to get one which is snug but not tight. 

Compression garments are certainly supposed to fit snug but should be appropriately fitted.  It is possible that it is too small but the only way to be sure is to have your surgeon assess you in it.  I would suggest calling their office to schedule an appointment to check the fit of your garment.  Garments that are ill-fitted can potentially cause problems such as rubbing/irritation, sores, etc. so sooner is better! Good luck!

Best to see your surgeon in person or at least call his office to ask what guidance they would recommend. Otherwise from your description the binder/girdle sounds much to tight...
