Is compression necessary after axillary liposuction? What can I use to compress in the absence of a compression garment?

I'm 2 days post liposuction of both armpits. My doctor did not specify what kind of compression i should use and did not recommend any garment. She just asked me to wear something tight around the area, like a tight tshirt or elastic bandages. Will those work? Do i need compression at all since it's a pretty hard to reach area? I want to avoid loose skin as much as possible. Thanks!
