How Common is Pubic Distortion After Having Abdominal Liposuction?

I had liposuction 16 months ago. My surgeon took too much fat from my flank so I now have a quarter sized crater! Worst of all, my pubic area is also saggy and distorted - It seems as though this area is "falling" - Was the liposuction procedure a precursor to my problem?

IT sounds as if you were a better candidate for a tummy tuck versus the liposuction. It sounds as if your problem is caused more by loose skin than excess fat.

With age, the area of the pubic region may sag a bit. Liposuction could make this worse.  As for the flank, contour irregularities can be adjusted sometimes by liposuction around the area that is depressed or by fat grafting the depression.

Sorry to hear about your condition. Liposuction removes fat. Despite all other claims to the contrary, it does NOT shrink the skin only removes the fat underneath it. If we regard the skin as the canvas of a sailboat's sail and the fat filling and pushing it forward as acting like the wind, the moment that wind (fat) is gone and its forward pushing is removed, the sail (skin) will sag. In your case you must have had moderate to significant fat in the Mons pubis. Removing it caused a deflation and sag. If this bothers you it can be corrected and lifted with a Mini-Tummy tuck incision.
