I am planning on having surgery to repair 3 hernias that occurred after a hysterectomy at the surgical site. I have lost 125lbs so far but have at least another 125 to go. I would like to have a panniculectomy at the same time as the hernia surgery. My concern is by not having this done the extra weight from my hanging stomach will cause another hernia. My thought is once I get all the weight off I can then choose to have a tummy tuck when I am at my weight loss goal. Feedback much appreciated

A panniculectomy will only remove the excess skin and fat that is forming the apron of skin, and won't do anything for anything above this. Panniculectomy is usually for people who have lost 100 lbs or more relatively quickly and when you have a BMI of less than 30.
