Bulged tip after alar base reduction and septoplasty

I had an alar base reduction by 2mm and a Septoplast 20 days ago. The lower one third of my nose is slightly round n bulbous. My surgeon says it will dissipate in two to three months. Should I wait or opt for steroid injections?
