In most instances if your belly is uncovered it would be permissible to gently clean the site with a q tip dipped in saline or peroxide and then apply ointment. However you should check with your surgeon regarding his or her specific post op instructions.

Bleeding at 4 weeks post op should be examined by your surgeon. If it is small areas where perhaps a small scab has come loose then there is typically no cause for concern. As it's better to err on the side of caution, I recommend speaking to your surgeon about this situation.
