Depending on the size of the patient and the type of anesthesia chosen expect to pay 1002 $1500 per area. In your particular case if you are considering the lateral thighs, the medial thighs in the knees the price would be around $4500.

Without good set of photos and the benefit of physical exam- it's difficult to comment accurately. Generally speaking, costs vary fro Region to Region, Practice to Practice, experience and qualifications of the Surgeon. Cost is always a difficult question to answer because it depends on many different things such as type of anesthesia, facility where performed, how many areas, time required, and can be limited by geographical location most commonly.  I recommend that you have an in person consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.  No matter the type of liposuction, the price you mentioned seems a little high just for the the thighs.  I don't suggest sacrificing cost for surgeon credentials as you could end up paying more to fix a situation when performed by someone not qualified.  Do your research and good luck!

Great question but not a straight forward answer. The cost of this type of surgery will completely depend on a few variables--whether or not anesthesia is needed/recommended, the surgeon, the area of the country/state, the facility where the surgery is performed (hospital, surgery center, office), and the time and/or volume of fat that you would like removed.  Taking out more fat takes more time thus the cost goes up!  That being said, that's a wide range of quotes you have received and a $10K quote only for thighs/knees seems a little steep to me.  However, don't go straight for the cheapest--you want to make sure that you research your surgeons, ensure they are board-certified/eligible by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (not the Board of Cosmetic Surgery--this is not a recognized, acceptable board), ensure the facility where surgery is performed is certified, and make sure that YOU feel comfortable with them operating on you.  Your best bet is to consult with several plastic surgeons that perform this type of surgery then decide based on the factors above.  Good luck!
