C&B uses much less energy than a Fraxel laser. The results are "non ablative" with very little downtime.I like to call the C&B treatment a laser facial!Dr. Anna Sylwestrowicz MD, FRCP(C)Victoria, BC
Clear + Brilliant utilizes a 1440nm laser that is non-ablative. This means that it does not remove skin, but causes thermal damage with minimal downtime. There is a newer 1927nm that provides similar superfiicial effects.Profractional utilizes a 2940nm laser that causes vaporization of the skin. This can be adjusted from superficial to deep, but invariably causes ablation at the surface. Patients can experience significant downtime, with persistent redness and even pain with deeper treatments. The similarity is in the fractionated method that the two devices use to deliver their energy. This leaves healthy tissue behind to aid in healing.

Hi Beatrice, That’s a very thoughtful and important question — I’m glad you asked before moving forward. The Clear + Brilliant laser, including both the Original and Permea versions, is considered a non-ablative fractional laser, meaning it works gently on the surface and within the upper layer...
Moxi and Clear + Brilliant Permea are both non-ablative fractional lasers utilizing a 1927 nm thulium wavelength, but they differ in their applications and capabilities. Moxi, developed by Sciton, offers a range of customizable settings, allowing for treatments that vary from superficial to...
