I have 22 year old Mentor smooth saline implants that were put in under the muscle. One ruptured a few months ago and the other was drained at the surgeons office last week. My question is, I'm really afraid of going under general as I'm a Mom now and I fear the risks. Also, Is there a chance of Mold growing in the implant if the saline has already been drained? Would my health be at risk if decided to not ever have them removed and am not concerned with the way they look. Thank you!

Answer: Delflated saline implants The implants can remain as long as there are no signs of infection, or other changes. But you do not need general anesthesia to remove the implants. Sedation anesthesia is fine as it is not a painful procedure to remove the implants. Then you do not need to even worry about them.

Answer: Deflated saline implants There is a high risk of mold growth in and around these implants if you are exposed to mold in your environment. Twenty five percent of the population cannot get rid of mold biotoxins, so they become very ill with fibromyalgia and neurological illness which requires total capsulectomy, antifungals, and biotoxin detox to recover. Many patients are misdiagnosed with MS and lupus but this diagnosis is wrong. We have hundreds of patients who regain their health with the correct diagnosis and treatment. I have also seen bad complications from draining the saline out of implants when there is contamination of the saline inside the implant.
