botox effects take 3-5 days to take however... horizontal lines are treated by injecting the forehead above the eyebrows, not between the eyebrows. That treatment take away the vertical lines
Because Botox (like Dysport and Xeomin) relaxes hyperactive muscles of expression that cause wrinkles, it is important to understand what to expect. The vertical lines between the eyebrows will be improved by injecting the corrugator muscle there, but will not have much effect on horizontal lines in the forehead. Horizontal lines require injection higher up, but this needs to be done expertly because they are often caused by the muscle that elevates the brows trying to overcome sagging brows. In that case, relaxing the muscle will make the lines go away but the brow can drop. Each area has its balance.
The horizontal lines along the upper nose are caused by a different muscles than the bulging muscles between the brows. To control wrinkles, the "commas" and the horizontal "bunny" lines both areas require Botox injections. Optimal results are obtained when the forehead, crows feet areas between the brows and top of the nose are injected with Botox. Imagine a tug of war amongst the forehead muscles with one group pulling harder than the other. By balancing these muscles the forehead look relaxed, without being frozen.
Botox usually starts to take effect at 2-3 days and has it's full effect at 10-14 days. I agree with the physician who commented that this should always be explained to the patient before the procedure is performed. Additionally, if your lines were present at rest they may not "disappear" with Botox alone. As always, I recommend a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon experienced in aesthetic injectables for these treatments. Best wishes.
It actually surpises me that someone who has had treatment needs to ask this question. This is something I discuss with every patient and is on my consent form for treatment. The results may be seen as early as 2-3 days but most people see the complete results 10-14 days after injection. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thanks for your question.Botox changes can start in about 3 days, but it usually takes about a week to see the full effect. I you are not seeing enough effect check in with your plastic surgeon at about 10 days.Best wishes.
The peak action of your Botox will be around one month, but in general you start seeing results around two weeks or even less. I very often have patients who see results well within the week, but in general you won't find your injector telling you this because they don't want you to be set up for disappointment if it takes a little bit longer.
A Botox injection between the eyebrows is not typically designed to alleviate horizontal lines. Consult with your injector to ensure that he or she understands your goals and whether there needs to be additional treatment.
To reduce the appearance of horizontal lines Botox is typically injected in the forehead. Injections between the eyebrows usually won't have much affect on this area as this is used typically for the "11" sign wrinkles.Discuss with your dermatologist.
BotoxCosmetic is injected into muscles to temporarily treat moderate to severe frownlines between the brows and in the area around the side of the eyes improvingthe look of moderate to severe crow’s feet lines in adults. It generallytakes 3-4 days for Botox to take effect but it can take up to 2 weeks. Thelines that you make when showing expression will be improved with Botoxinjections, if you have lines at rest then they will soften with Botox. If thehorizontal lines are between your brows then they should improve in 3-4 days. Ifthe lines were not between the brows then you will not see a change as thoselines were not treated. Depending on the depth of the lines they may not “disappear”they may need filler for best improvement. It is bestto return to your Board Certified Dermatologist with your questions. For more information on Botox click link below:
Botox can help but filler works very well too. I suggest seeking a cosmetic consultation with a dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Best, Dr. Emer.
Ensure you are accepting treatment by a highly skilled and experienced injector. Botox should only be administered by highly trained personal. Hope this helps.
Typically women wait until in their mid to late 30's to begin Botox Therapy. Age 22 is very young to begin Botox use, but only a face to face visit with a board certified physician injector will help you to make a decision on whether Botox treatment is indicated for you. If you are already b...
