Bunny lines are horizontal lines that run across the region of the bridge of the nose that are accentuated by scrunching when smiling. One prominent line may be present, as in this case, or several. Regardless, a few microdroplets of Botox (or the other neuromodulators, Dysport and Xeomin) instilled in the region work well for suppressing the dynamic (movement related) component of these aesthetically troubling lines. After years of daily emoting hundreds or even thousands of time, the skin may persist in appearing "etched" by the movement of the underlying muscles. These "etch" marks are static wrinkles (i.e. wrinkles that remain when the muscles are at rest). A small amount of filler, such as Restylane or Belotero can be very helpful in dealing with this. The additional benefit of combining both kinds of treatments is that the overall duration of beneficial effect tends to last considerably longer than the effects of either of the aforementioned treatments alone. For example, Botox may ordinarily last between four and six months when used alone, and filler may last six to eight months. But, when combined, benefits may last about a year.
Yes Botox, xeomin or dysport can be used to treat these lines at the top of your nose. You should start to see improvement within a few days of injection. Your physician should be able to give you an idea of how much will improve with the first treatment. Ongoing benefit will be seen with future treatments.
