Is advancing genioplasty a good option if I want I subtle, very natural results? (Photos)

Question

I had a consultation with a surgeon to address the pockets of fat around my buccal fat and lower third. He suggested chin augmentation, because removing fat won't be enough because the real problem is a weak chin. I had chin filler before with good results but the idea that the results will be permanent and will not fluctuate over time, sounds appealing. However I don't to elongate my face or change it too drastically. Is it a good idea if I'm aiming for results similar to filler?

A sliding genioplasty or a chin implant would greatly improve your facial balance. The chin implant can easily be removed if the aesthetics don't meet your expectations. Both of these procedures are performed in the office with sedation anesthesia and will not change your bite.

A genioplasty is performed by an oral surgeon under general anesthesia in a hospital setting with an overnight stay at the hospital, and is much more invasive. Consider placement of a small chin implant under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure, which takes about 30 minutes.

For chin augmentation assessments, we need quality pictures, especially profile pictures.
From the one profile picture you included it looks like your mandible is significantly under developed.
You don’t have an abnormal fat distribution.
The issue is completely related to skeletal structure.
Personally, I find oral surgeons have a slightly better approach to assessing issues related to the mandible.
Plastic surgeons tend to be a bit more soft tissue oriented.
You could use a fairly dramatic advancement of your mental region, a.k.a. sliding genioplasty with forward movement.
Have multiple consultations, including visiting with oral surgeons.
During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of it before and after pictures of previous patients who have similar facial characteristics to your own.
Get a proper set of facial pictures and always bring those with you to use as a reference during the consultation.
When you reviewing before, and after pictures, you want to see the results of previous patients who had the same facial characteristics.
To confirm that you need to look at your own pictures while reviewing before and after pictures.
and experienced provider should have access to hundreds of before and next pictures to choose from 
The biggest mistake I see patients make is having only one consultation and then scheduling surgery.
Provider selection is the most important variable.
To find the right provider usually requires consulting with quite a few providers.Only exceptional providers deliver exceptional results.
Average plastic surgeons do average work
Always look for exceptional.
