As long as you are fully healed after your rhinoplasty, IPL is perfectly safe. You will probably need at least several sessions to resolve the redness. Depending on your other issues, you may need combination therapy. Consulting a board-certified dermatologist will allow your skin to be evaluated and the best treatment chosen.
Yes, you can get IPL after a rhinoplasty as long as you have healed from the procedure. Keep in mind, laser results can take several weeks to settle and sometimes take a series of treatments to get improvement. I suggest adding microneedling/prp to improve skin quality and tone. There is no restriction to do IPL after rhinoplasty as long as you have healed completely. The skin type and area of concern has to be evaluated before doing IPL and if the reds and browns are something that can be treated with IPL there won't be any issues with rhinoplasty done already.
Hi and thank you for your question! As long as the healing process following the surgery is completed and you are otherwise a candidate for IPL, there is no restriction on doing IPL following rhinoplasty. I hope it helps and good luck!
Generally, IPL only penetrates the top layer of skin, so there should be no issues after rhinoplasty. However, I would make sure to wait until you have healed appropriately before proceeding, just to ensure nothing interferes with the healing process.
Thank you for your question gladyyscorrales. I understand your concern. An IPL photofacial is anoutstanding treatment for facial rejuvenation. It works by using bright lightto target and destroy pigment and redness in the skin. It is difficult to make an assessment without aformal exam in the office where I can directly view the skin. However, I hopethe information provided here is useful. An IPL photofacial treatment may be performed after a surgical rhinoplasty once the skin has healed completely. This usually occurs after one to two months. It is important to discuss this with your surgeon. The treatment will help with diffuse or generalized redness, broken capillaries, and uneven color. Please consult with a doctor for specificrecommendations. Good luck!
Provided you have healed from rhinoplasty you should have no problem. Absent the ability to evaluate you and understand your goals I can only provide a general recommendation. With that in mind, IPL will generally address the symptoms you describe. Regular maintenance treatments every few months generally provide the greatest longer term benefits. A fairly recent Stanford study indicates IPL can actually reset the RNA and DNA to a more youthful state. As well, there is an indication IPL's can inhibit and prevent skin cancers. Therefore, it is wise to maintain regular IPL therapy as an integral component of your long term skin care regimen. Wishing you healthy and vibrant skin. May you thrive in life.Warmly,Arbella Sarkis, MD
Generally speaking it is safe to do IPL if you have had a rhinoplasty. It is best to wait until you have healed from your rhinoplasty and you do not have any significant swelling remaining on your nose. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Plastic Surgery@drjohnsonlee
