I’m worried about getting chicken butt after my BBL.. I know the fajas have the genital opening so you can pee but a lot of girls said it causes their vaginas to swell and can cause chicken butt and I really don’t want that..

Hello, thank you for your question. The compression garment varies with the plastic surgeon. I do not recommend a garment or faja that is extremely tight over the buttocks. I typically ask patients to use adjustable garments with multiple bands so that tension can be adjusted and the areas of liposuction are less likely to get a fluid collection. The garments typically do not cover the buttocks. The key here is the size and the ability to tighten the garment, not the brand or make. In my practice, the compression garments are provided as part of the BBL post op package.

I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. But every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

Chicken butt is a condition where patients have droopiness of the lower inner part of their buttocks. Patient so I have this should not have fat grafted in this area. It’s predictable before the procedure and depends on the candidacy of the patient more than anything else. This should be reviewed during an in person consultation. I suggest looking up the YouTube video on the Miami thong  lift by Dr. Mendieta. It describes this condition, who has it and the treatment options for it.

Compression garments have zero impact on the final outcome. I personally use them for a couple of weeks but they are not all that necessary and do not have any impact on the final results.

Swelling is temporary and it’s a normal response to the treatment.

When the lower abdomen is treated with Liposuction and this continues on to the mons pubis it allows swelling fluid to travel into the labia majora‘s.

This is the primary reason the privates swell up. When the mons pubis is not included this typically doesn’t happen.
