Its pretty easy to get both done at the same time, plus it would be one recovery vs. two. For the actual surgery, the implants would be placed first, then the cheeks would be reassessed for buccal fat. You would most likely end up needing to taking out less fat afterwards, due to the new cheek prominence.

Facial sculpting and contouring can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Countour, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra, which would give improvement in facial balance. Fat or implants are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question. It is possible that both procedures can be performed at the same time. The implants would be customized to your current and desired facial structure to achieve the desired shape and projection. 
It’s important to note that buccal fat pad removal is permanent since this tissue does not grow back, though silicone implants can be easily removed if necessary. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They’ll be able to go in-depth about all of the steps of your procedure and what you may expect.

Your surgeon could do both at the same time, but perhaps it would suit you better to only do one over the other. 
Sometimes, removing the buccal fat pads is counterproductive because you might want that youthful volume down the road. 
It is common practice to use a combination of these two procedures to achieve contour or definition of the midface.
Custom cheek implants are made specifically for you and thus prevent many of the issues usually related to the more generic implants. 
An advantage of custom implants is that you can design them to fit your particular likes and style. A proper consultation is required to know more about your needs.

the focus is always on the underlying bone structure and then consider soft tissue management. Generally, the bone enhancement satisfies the contour concerns
