What is possible for chin reduction? (Photos)

Question

I feel that I have a lot of soft tissue on my chin, it’s almost like a little ball. When I smile, the soft tissue goes down and it makes my double chin even more visible. I was wondering if a reduction of the soft tissue would help my appearance?

You have a few options to improve the appearance of the soft tissue fullness, but all of them are incremental.  Some of the that fullness will be muscle bulk, and you can reduce that with botox.  It will be a small reduction, and you have to keep retreating every few months.  If your main concern is the way it looks at rest you can add some volume with filler or fat grafting around the edges of the fullness so it doesn't look so much like a ball.  You might even be able to add a small chin implant to help put that soft tissue under more stretch.  Sit down with an experienced surgeon and they will be able to show you the differences each of these procedures will make. -Dr. Rolfes

All that can be done for an excessive soft tissue chin pad is some limited submental reduction of it.
