Had chin lipo done 3 days ago. Results less pronounced now than the day after surgery. Is this normal? (photos)

As you can see from the photos, my chin 24 hours after surgery look very good with an angle even appearing on my neck. However, the day 3 results look more like what I had before the operation. I’ve been diligent about wearing my compression strap & only took it off to take these photos and to shower once - my doc said I could do this. I know area is still swollen, but is it normal for the skin so swell so much after the 24 hour mark?

The initial swelling peaks around day 3-5 so this is totally expected. The swelling will gradually go down and you result will improve.

Yes, this is typical. You still have swelling, which can take several weeks to resolve. If you're concerned, I recommend following up with your surgeon. I hope this helps.

Typically, the third day corresponds to the most swollen day. By looking at your day 1 photo, you should get an excellent result. A significant amount of this swelling will be gone in 1 week, but it will take 2-3 months to see your final results.

It's too soon to tell what your final results will be. You may still have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. To speed up healing, you can try adding hyperbaric oxygen, lymphatic massage, venus legacy or exilis radiofrequency treatments. To improve final results, we will often do a kybella and ultherapy about 4-6 weeks after neck liposuction to get more of an outcome. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

What you are experiencing is rather typical. Swelling usually gets worse for the first 4-5 days then tapers after that. Consider icing frequently and stay in good contact with your surgeon. Good luck!

Swelling
 is normal at this phase of the healing process, be patient, it will go 
down in few weeks, i recommend my patients use the bandage to give more 
compression to the area.
