Chin Implant Vs. Jaw Surgery to fix overbite? (photo)

I would advise seeing an oral surgeon to scan and evaluate the jaw/teeth issues. It appears as a surgery on the jaw might be indicated... 

Although a chin implant may seem like an attractive option (cheaper and simpler), it will not address your overbite (and you may even not be a good candidate for an implant). The more expensive and complicated orthognathic operations which cut the bone and move the teeth into proper position can correct the overbite and make your jaw/chin more proportioned and aligned with your face. Since the conversation started with your dentist, ask him if he can recommend a craniofacial surgeon or oral maxillofacial  surgeon for a consult just to talk about it and see if this is right for you.Finally, I hope your dentist didn't really say, "You would be a lot more attractive if you got your overbite fixed." If he did, I suggest you only concern yourself with things that bother you, not someone else. Every face is different and these differences are what makes a person different and attractive. 

Without all the information, it is hard to give exact advice, but I have many patients with receded chins, just like yours, who benefit from chin implants.  The surgery is quick and the recovery is fairly easy.
