Hi I am 4 day post op chin implant. External incision. The chin is still wrapped, and the implant looks amazing! even in the bandages i can see the difference, and cant wait. I had a very recessed chin However i am still in too much pain. I am naturally a slow healer, but i am starting to wonder if all has gone right. I still cant eat soft foods, and am living off liquids. I tried eating mashed potatoes but the pain is overwhelming. No signs of infection, no redness or visible bruises

I think your implant is too high, which is common with intraoral placement. It is not  projecting where you need it. Though some might want to do a bony advancement this is a bigger and not necessarily better surgery.  I would remove your implant from below and put another in where it bel...

In general, there is no dental risk after a chin implant.  Since you are having issues, follow up with your plastic surgeon for an evaluation.

 A chin implant is inserted through sub mental approach to give forward projection to the chin and mandible. There is also small amount of added vertical height and lateral width that occurs with the implant as well. The implant will have no effect on the lower lip.

It is important to have a solid bony foundation for the skin and soft tissues of the face to drape over. A chin implant is a procedure to increase the projection of the front part of the mandible to help with facial balance. A chin implant does not postpone saggy skin.
