A chin implant combined with liposuction of the chin/neck area yields a great result that patients are generally very happy with. I would recommend a consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon. He/she will evaluate you in person and provide you with the best advice. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.
A chin implant placed appropriately along with liposuction of the neck will produce a nice change with minimal invasiveness. I performed this combination a couple of days ago on a woman with similar anatomy with great results.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
Good question. I think that you have nice cheeks that have adequate volume, and are nicely shaped. You would have a nice change by augmenting your chin in both the amount of projection and the height. Although every face is individual, in general, an aesthetic lower face has somewhat defined proportions. When you look at the distance from the bottom of the nostrils to the point of the chin, 1/3 of that distance should be between the bottom of the nostril and the small opening between your upper and lower lip when your face is at rest. The other 2/3 should be between this point between the lips, and the point of the chin. As you can see in your face, the vertical height in each of these sections is almost equal, so we would want to vertically lengthen your chin from the front view. From the profile view, we would want to increase the projection of your chin so it is more in line with the front leading edge of your lips. This would give a nice natural and balance result. There are a huge variety of chin implants and we would be able to find one to fit your needs.
A neck lift involves removal of fat above and below the platysma muscle in the neck and tightening the platysmal neck muscles as well. This will improved your jawline. A chin implant can also be inserted through the same incision to give added projection to the chin and balance your facial features. The chin implant will also give a small amount of added width and height.
You are not a good candidate for a chin implant as you chin is too vertically small and also your mentolabial fold is deep and if you placed a chin implant it would not look right. You need a sliding genioplasty or possibly even a jaw advancement. You need to see a specialist in your area.Joe Niamtu, III DMDCosmetic Facial SurgeryRichmond, Virginia
You do have a weak chin which is recessed. A chin implant will give your projection to your chin and balance your face more. In addition, you may consider a bit of liposculpting and fillers to shape your face! These are all minor procedures with a quick recovery time.
If you are fortunate and can do whatever you want I recommend that you have a chin implant and submental liposuction to improve projection of the chin and jawline definition. A submalar implant would provide contour to your mid-face area.
Waiting another two months would be a good idea. You will not experience loose skin following the implant replacement. You will have swelling following the procedure, but it may not be as significant as it was following the first procedure. I would recommend communicating any concerns to your...
In general, there is no dental risk after a chin implant. Since you are having issues, follow up with your plastic surgeon for an evaluation.
A chin implant is inserted through sub mental approach to give forward projection to the chin and mandible. There is also small amount of added vertical height and lateral width that occurs with the implant as well. The implant will have no effect on the lower lip.
