Question

40yr old female, and have asymmetrical face , and not sure what surgery I should get. Should I consider a sliding genioplasty or v-shape surgery? Or other options. If I do chin implant or v-shape surgery would it give me balanced appearance? My main issue is uneven jawline, I just can’t stand it anymore. Am 5”8 126lbs , but am planning to lose 10lbs , and currently located in Franklin TN, please let me know if you have referral to a specialist or any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thank you

You appear to be a candidate for jaw surgery. I would consider speaking with a cranio-maxillo facial  surgeon first before cosmetic surgery. Jaw surgery is a major procedure, but it would fix most of your aesthetic issues, as well as improving your bite and other problems you may have (jaw pain, sleep apnea...) If you are sure you do not want to go that route, a genioplasty with jawline contouring would get you a decent outcome. It would bring your chin forward and balance out some of the asymmetry. It would also improve the labiomental fold, and decrease the shadowing on your chin.

Thank you for your pictures. I agree with you that you have facial symmetry. I think a sliding genioplasty or a chin implant would not give you your desired result. I believe the best option, for you would be an upper jaw and Laura gel surgery to correct the asymmetry with a genioplasty. The second best option would be lower jaw contouring on the right and a sliding genioplasty. I hope this helps.

You have Mentalis strain and a shallow mentolabial fold which indicates a very recessive chin. With an asymmetry, you would need a custom implant or a sliding genioplasty to correct the asymmetry. With large advancements greater than 6-7 mm I prefer to perform a sliding genioplasty.
