You do appear to be a good candidate for a chin augmentation. You also do have lips that are on the larger end of the spectrum. Lip size is really a matter of personal preference and some people prefer having larger lips. I would recommend having the chin augmentation procedure first and then see how you feel about the lips. It is possible that the chin implant may make your lips appear relatively a bit smaller.
A chin implant would improve your jaw line and enhance facial balance and symmetry. In short, I think you would be an excellent candidate. There is little doubt that having a chin that is the appropriate size will change your perception of your midface triangle. Your midface in general will seem less prominent or strong. With this in mind, you should get your chin done first and see how you like the outcome. Should you feel strongly afterwards that your lips need to be made smaller that can be performed under local anesthesia without significant down time. Good luck and as always choose an experienced surgeon who specializes in facial aesthetics, has lots of photos that you like and gives you a sense of confidence.
I think you will find that if your chin had more horizontal and vertical projection, your lips would appear somewhat 'smaller' to you. At the least, change the chin first and then see how you feel about your lips.
good morning you're not a bad candidate for chin implant and in my opinion I would say you want to focus on adding some projection as well as some vertical height to the chin. I say this because too much projection alone without some adjustment in the vertical height of your chin can create a deep indentation between the chin and lips themselves. In your case that indentation would be very deep. With respect to your lips, that's a matter of preference, I've certainly seen larger though yours are somewhat on the larger end of the spectrum. Lip production is a relatively simple procedure under local anesthesia but you may find after a chin implant that they do not look as prominent to you. Another thing to remember or consider is that your lips will probably thin and reducing volume as you age. best of luck Chase Lay MD
Full lips are a great thing. Lots of people pay very good money to achieve full lips! I wouldn't consider changing your lips in any way. A chin implant by augmenting your chin/ jaw will improve the balance of your lower face and create the illusion of smaller, or at least more balanced, lips. I hope this information is helpful.Stephen Weber MD, FACSWeber Facial Plastic Surgery
Aesthetically speaking the Chin is quite weak and a Chin Implant would augment the chin and balance the lower face. The lips are equally full and in my aesthetic opinion is where the issue lies. Aestheically, the lips should be balanced and appear so when the upper lip is no more than 75% the size of the lower. Using this aesthetic ideal, the upper lip should be reduced slightly. This, of course, could always be done after the Chin Implant has been done as augmenting the chin may take some attention off of the upper lip. Hope this helps.
It sounds like your treating doctor is concerned that your husband is a risk for developing an infection. It sounds like you are in good hands as he has placed your husband on antibiotics and has been following up with your husband regularly. Your doctor and your husband should watch...
Thank you for the question. Yes, that is an important distinction to make between those two types of implants. The pre-jowl implant is a good implant but really will not give you much projection of the chin. Based on your photographs if you would like to make a change that is nice and...
The first step in helping you get closer to your goals is to change the shape of the chin. What you are demonstrating is a slightly longer and more narrow chin. That could be achieved by designing a chin implant that adds vertical length but with no lateral wings. The jawline would also need to...
It is way too early to worry about scars and lumps after your recent chin implant. These questions are best left to your surgeon who is in the best position to answer you as he is aware of your individual anatomical considerations.
Cost factors vary significantly for a number of good reasons: Prices vary greatly because the surgery itself encompasses a wide range of techniques that can be performed to different extents. My recommendation is to first find the most qualified surgeons where you want the surgery ...
The implant is placed directly over the bone. It is covered with soft tissue so the implant will feel very natural. It will not shift as you age and would take a tremendous amount of force to move out of position. However, if this is a major concern of yours you might want to consider an sliding...
