Hey guys, I’m having buccal fat removal and chin and neck liposuction in a few weeks. I wouldn’t say my face is that chubby so I think the result is going to be quite average. I’m actually hoping to get chin and jawline filler after to really optimise my results. I guess my question is how long should I wait after my surgery to have the filler done and will this give me the best result?
Answer: Buccal Fat Pad Removal + Chin Lipo This is a very powerful combination for facial contour done in the right patients. The bichectomy or buccal fat pad removal is a minimal invasive procedure that usually takes place in a doctor’s office. Removing this fat pad strategically gives a sharper, chiseled and more symmetric appearance. Good candidates are patients that despite losing weight or are in their normal weigh, the volume in their cheeks area is still prominent. The procedure is highly bearable with local anesthesia which is injected inside the mouth at the level of the second upper molar. At this site a small puncture incision is made and it’s carefully dissected so that no neighboring structures (nerves or vessels) are damaged until the pad is found. Once the pad is found it is pulled to the oral cavity to remove it under direct vision, thus not harming any other structures. The incision heals by itself and closes by the 4-5 day, and no sutures are needed. Factors that influence results are: amount of buccal fat pad removed (average amount is 3 cc, the size of a chestnut), healing process, wound retraction, overall tissue (amount of facial muscle and skin). The results start to show after the swelling begins to fade away, usually at 1-month post op and the end results at 3 months postop. Submental liposuction or chin lipo can be done in combination with the buccal fat pad removal in an office setting procedure (right after the buccal's), still it can also be done in the OR with other procedures as well. As in regular body liposuction, chin lipo involves removing the excess fat that gives the double chin appearance. Through a small stab incision in the submental crease a small cannula is used to infiltrate tumescent fluid (numbing solution) to prepare the fat for aspiration. This is the uncomfortable part of the procedure, but it´s well tolerated by the patient. After the infiltrated area gets numb, the liposuction with aspiration is done. The amount of fat aspirated ranges 50-100 cc, it varies from each person´s fatty deposits. The whole process lasts and average of 20 minutes. After the procedure is done a compression garment is placed (chin garment). The garment´s main purpose is to limit swelling and also to prevent skin sagging by attaching the skin back to the necks surface closing the gap made with the submental fat aspiration. Candidates are patients with a double chinwith good skin elasticity and quality, with an average age 40. For the final results remember that liposuction takes time for the skin to settle. The skin will continue to tighten over time and so you will get some immediate benefit, but the real benefit comes weeks ormonths later. Liposuction is limited by the structure you are born with such as the mandible and hyoid bone. Best regards!!!

Answer: Buccal Fat Removal for Facial Sculpting Treatment of ‘chubby cheeks’ cannot be achieved alone with buccal fat pad removal; a fact that I encounter time and time again when seeing patients in consultation for lower facial sculpting. My approach is to use a combined protocol that redefines aesthetic contours of the face. This includes the following: Buccal Fat Pad Removal Non-surgical Muscle-Fascia Tightening Venus Legacy or Venus Viva Ultherapy Submental Liposuction or Coolsculpting The combined approach is ideal. Buccal fat pad removal is a exceptional procedure that can remove excess fat from the cheek pads. Using an intraoral approach, a small incision is carried through the mucosa to remove a small fat pad within the cheek. Closure of the incisions is minimal with an absorbable suture and patients will experience some swelling post-operatively. We use SwellX tablets post treatment. Once healed, the contour of the cheek is improved and we begin Non-invasive tissue tightening to further enhance results. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Chin and jawline Filler after Chin/Neck Liposuction and Buccal Fat Removal Thank you for your question. I suggest you wait at least 2 months before doing any other procedure on the same area or next to it, that way you can be sure that most of the inflammation has gone away and that you healed without any complications. You will be able to see accurately the results from your buccal fat removal and chin lipo without the fillers interference (remember fillers are temporary, so you might want to know how will you look without them) Also it would make it easier for your surgeon to work and determine exactly how to improve your jawline and chin with fillers according to your expectations and needs. I hope this really helps, best wishes

Answer: After swelling goes down It would be better to wait until you are healed and your swelling goes down. So you can have a better idea of your facial proportions and make a better decision about how much filler and where you want to have on your face. Hope this helps,Ali Rıza Öreroğlu, MD FEBOPRASEuropean and Turkish Board Certified Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive SurgeonIstanbul, Turkey

Answer: Can you do chin and jawline filler after liposuction and buccal fat removal? #buccalfatremoval Fillers can be done on a area of the face where surgery has been done, once all the healing has passed. The time is variable and it depends on the patient's healing process, surgeon's preference and proximity of the area already treated with surgery and the area to be treated with fillers.
