Should I have incisionless otoplasty or the more traditional otoplasty with an incision? (Photos)

Question

I was recommended to have incisionless otoplasty by one surgeon and recommended to have incision otoplasty by another surgeon. I am unsure of which procedure is best for my ears. My fear is that the incisionless otoplasty will not give me a desirable permanent look.

Hello,I really do not know what incisionless otoplasty is. I never heard of it. What we DO knnow is if you have excess cartilage causing your ears to stick out more the only true way of resolving that issue is through incisions that alloww the excess cartilage to be removed. Just pinning back or holding he ears back is always associated with relapse and does not work.

Based on your photos, you may be well suited for a suture otoplasty procedure to reposition your ears closer to your head, and to restore normal architecture to your external ears. Scars are in the crease between your ear and head, and normal social activity is typically resumed less than a week after surgery. Hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

The left ear would be incisionless and the right ear traditional. Secondary to that I'd go with traditional with incision! You need a consultation to explain the details of why! Don't let any surgeon tell you that you MUST go to sleep. That is likely because they don't do the surgery that often. Also ask to see all the before and afters. They should have 30+ if they are truly experienced in the surgery!
