Sclerotherapy for hand veins - what are the risks and reasons why this is not performed?

I have large, dark, bulging veins in my hands. I had hoped to find a provider to perform sclerotherapy to address this issue but even places that say they do that online or on the phone eventually tell me that they do not do sclerotherapy for hands. I cannot find a provider or a solution (everyone says they can do filler instead) but I also can't find any data on risks or reasons why they won't do sclerotherapy for hand veins. Any insight would be appreciated.

Sclerotherapy of hand veins is not really any more risky than sclerotherapy anywhere else on the body.  There are many technical aspects to the treatment that make it not something to do at Medspa with some nurse who dabbles in sclerotherapy.  The biggest drawback is that hand veins are sometimes used for IV access which means that if you do not have decent veins on your arms for blood draws and IV access you may not want to get sclerotherapy on your hands.  My recommendation is to find a vein  specialist  who has lots of experience with treating hand veins.  You can also find out who treats hand veins by looking on the website of the vein specialist in your area. If they don't have before and after photo of hand veins, they probably treat hand veins very often or very well.  Wishing you the best of health.
