I wasted a bunch of money on Excel V sessions which did nothing for my large periorbital veins. Where do I go from here? Is sclerotherapy safe in this area (I’ve heard mixed answers about it)? Would a microphlebectomy be better? I’m also having trouble finding doctors who treat this area so any recommendations in the San Diego & Bay Area would be appreciated. My skin also develops melasma on top of them & makes them look even darker & they're impossible to cover. Thank you.

Answer: Sclerotherapy to Periorbital Veins is an effective treatment
Lauren, Thank you for sending photos. The photo you shared show normal reticular dermis veins. These veins are normally present on everybody's legs. As you point out your skin is fair and rather translucent. This is healthy, but it does allow your normal veins to be more visible. There is...
The veins pictured are reticular veins. They are of no medical concern. If desired, those veins can be treated for cosmetic purposes with sclerotherapy but if they don't bother you, they don't need to be treated.
Low body fat and aging both make your veins more prominent. We often treat hand veins with sclerotherapy, which removes them. However, we don't recommend treating or removing veins from your arms as they are needed for blood draws and medical procedures.
