Should the weather still be affecting my rhinoplasty swelling at 9 months? (photo)

I had a septo-rhinoplasty last November and I had very severe swelling on my nose bridge where a hump was removed. At 9 months in, I would have thought my nose would have settled by now, but there still seems to be a little bit of swelling - with SIGNIFICANT swelling after I have been outside in the heat. This swelling never happened to me before surgery. Why is my nose still swelling so much in the heat? Does this mean it still has a bit more healing to do?

Nature sometimes can play tricks on us. Generally, nine months after rhinoplasty, the result is in and the nose tissues are stable and unchanging. It just may be that your skin is very sensitive. I would not worry since the swelling comes and goes; it is not permanent. I would suggest that in very hot weather, you wear a hat or cap that shields  your nose from the sun. The heat will make the nose swell.  If you broke your ankle and put it in the oven, what would happen?  It would swell.  Due to the weather, it may take longer than a year to see your final result.  After spending time in the heat, relax with cold packs on your eyes.  This will help.
