You can have itching after any surgical procedure due to various reasons. This can include anabiotics, pain medication, garment, and sometimes post operative healing. Usually this is self-limiting and resolves on its own. However if it is significant, it's best to discuss it with your surgeon. Best of luck!Dr. Dhaval PatelSchaumburg, Barrington, oak brook, Chicago

Commonly patients will have itching sensations over the incision sites as they heal. Sometimes moisturizers ease this. There are many causes of itching that can include medication reactions, allergies, and irritation from tape and other topicals. Best to review with your surgeon.
Thank you very much for your question.Itching is typically caused by the nerves being swollen/irritated, and goes away with time. If it's your skin that's itching, I would also just make sure you aren't having some kind of a rash (reaction to the garment, prep, or a low-grade yeast infection due to the area being damp). You may want to discuss this with your doctor and see if they have any recommendations.Best of luck!
