Can I go home right after surgery? I live maybe a hour away after my BBL.

Nothing substitutes for a personal evaluation, a review of your medical history/medications and a face to face discussion of your options.After a successful discharge from the recovery room any length of travel time is uncomfortable.  You can purchase a BBL pillow that takes the pressure off your buttock.I trust you have chosen a Plastic Surgeon who is experienced and Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. You need to be observed in recovery for at least an hour or so before leaving.  Please look at plastic surgeon credentials before just selecting one based upon price.  Find a board certified plastic surgeon who has performed thousands of BBLs and has hundreds of pictures on his or her website.  Kenneth Hughes, MDBeverly Hills, CA

Yes - almost all patients go home right after a BBL.  Living an hour away is okay as well.  Some surgeons may recommend a donut to sit on for comfort and cushion.  If your plastic surgeon performs very high volume liposuction then he/she may recommend a night's stay to monitor your fluid levels, but this is something you can discuss with them.Best of luck and hope this information helps!- Dr. Roger Tsai
