Will PDO threads dissolve completely or will I need this thread removed? (Photo)

I just got PDO threads in my cheeks. On my right side everything okay. But on my left cheek I can see a “pointy bump” when I smile. It’s very obvious when I smile. I do have an appointment in 4 weeks for a check up. I just want to know if the bumps will completely disappear or should I have the thread removed instead?

Yes an infection can occur at any time although 6 weeks post procedure it's more unlikely.  You should always have your provider exam it in person, but the lump could be an infection, nodule, a dislodged thread, or something else. Thank you, Roger Schechter, MD

I suspect, given what you are describing that you may only be a day or so post treatment, in which case, some swelling is normal, with many patients experiencing post treatment discomfort and minor swelling. Yes, it is certainly possible that no result was obtained.  There can be a number of reasons for this including: 1.  Your tissues are not mobile enought 2.  Not enough threads placed 3.  Threads not sufficiently anchored 4.  Thread type is too weak 5.  Thread angles...
