I just got my lips done for the first time (pictured below) in Europe while visiting family. The filler used consists of hyaluronic acid and is from a company in Paris called Stylage. I don't know if it is available/used commonly in the US. In about 6 months, when it's time for a touch up, is it safe to use another brand like Juvederm to touch up my lips?

Answer: Lip filler Lip fillers of different companies can be injected with overlap. However there are some concerns when fillers with high degree of crossing get mixed which are believed to have a higher risk of leading to later complications such as nodule formation.

Answer: Maintaining lip filler results with a different brand of HA filler Stylage is not approved for use in the USA by the FDA but you can use another HA based filler for lip maintenance. I prefer to use Restylane Refyne when treating the lips.

We typically use Juvederm and Restylane products for filler in the lips in our practice. I would recommend having your provider research what type of filler was used in your lips, and he or she can make sure the product you have injected next is similar to what is currently in your lips.
