Doctor gave me stem cell injection for dark circles and ended up with huge bruise that lasted 3 weeks before it turned into the stain. She said it’s improved and will be gone by the end of the year. I can’t see improvement.

The best treatments for capillary issues and hemosiderin staining are vascular lasers such as pulsed dye laser, Excel V, aerolase, Venus Versa IPL, laser genesis or yellow laser. Settings are determined on a per case basis, it is best to consult with an expert to determine the best settings for you. I suggest discussing this with the physician performing the treatment. We often combine vascular lasers with non ablative fractional lasers such as clear and brilliant or venus viva for better results. Best, Dr. Emer.

First, stay away from anyone offering stem cell treatments outside of a legitimate registered clinical trail. (see link below). Second, find a reputable plastic surgeon who does not offer untested treatments.Third, hemosiderin is hard to remove but time may help.

This is a common problem. It very well may be gone in a year, but I generally suggest treating it with an IPL. This has the advantage of causing no more harm and speeding the process significantly or eliminating the problem when done properly with the right machine.
