I enrolled for laser treatment for 8 sessions to treat upper lip, chin and under arms. After 5 sessions, Iength of hair growth is still same, but however there is delay in growth. When I went for the 5th session, the doctor did not shave before the treatment and suggested that I have to take high frequency laser treatement within 24 to 48 hours after my regular laser session, for better results. This high frequency laser treatment is required for me as my hair roots are thick and dense
Answer: Laser Hair Removal Facts--Takes a series of treatments--See an expert Doing laser hair removal a few days apart doesn't help at all. You have to go with the normal hair cycle. The first 3 should be 3-6 weeks apart and then following 3+ treatments should be 6-8 weeks apart. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: This is odd since there has to be few weeks in between laser hair removal treatments. Thank you for your question! This is odd since there has to be few weeks in between laser hair removal treatments. There has to be at least 3 weeks apart between laser treatments. The frequency used depends on your skin and hair color, so your provider probably has not been using proper settings and is about to witch to different settings. I would not suggest you to undergo laser hair removal treatment less than 3 weeks apart. Best of luck!

Answer: Laser hair removal questions In my experience, removing hair from arms and face is difficult, particular in darker skin patients. The laser can not be turned up to high intensity and the hairs are usually too fine to treat properly. Hair must be shaved before treatment to get the heat to the deeper aspects of the follicle. I have never heard of high frequency hair removal and don't think it will help. There is always a stunting of growth with laser hair removal and this does not represent long term effect.

Answer: Laser Hair Removal on Lip, Chin and Underarms Thanks for your question Punitha- Get a 2nd opinion at an experienced clinic near you. The hair cycle on your face is every 4-6 weeks and your underarms every 6-8 weeks. Treatments spaced any closer is a waist of time and money as your body has natural hair cycles and the laser treatments need to be timed to effectively target the hair roots during their growth phase. From your name, I'm going to guess that you may have a skin type IV or higher which means that the ideal wavelength for you would be 1064nm. An experienced laser technician will use this wavelength and adjust the "spot size" and "fluence or energy settings" on the laser to get you results over time. You should expect 8-12 treatments with this wavelength and it's possible that you will need periodic "touch up" treatments after that depending on your genetics, hormones, etc. Best of luck, Dr. Halliday
