If I don't shave before laser hair removal what's the worse that can happen ? Please I have to know if the technician is wrong

You should definitely shave before the laser treatment.  No one wants to smell and only burn the visible hair and not get to the follicle.  There is actually potential for hair to ignite although very rare. 

It is typical to shave either the night before or the morning of laser hair removal treatments. This is to get the best results in eliminating the shaft and not just the hair follicle. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a laser hair removal expert. Keep in mind, it does take a series of treatments to get improvement. Best, Dr. Emer

It might help the technician to see how much hair you have left and where it is growing, but then it should be shaved prior to treatment.  In our office we use IPL for this and if the hair is above the level of the skin, the light will be absorbed in the visible hair and it will not reach to the depth of the follicle, where it will be effective.

It is essential to shave prior to the treatment. I like my patients to shave the morning of the procedure. Most of the heat will burn the hair that is visible if not shaved and not go down the follicle. Also, the hairs will singe on the head of the laser(some of them) and potentially lead to a burn risk if the head is not cleaned intermittently during treatment. 

It is recommended that you shave within 24 hours of having LHR so that the laser/light will focus on the follicle underneath the skin and not the hair shaft (since that hair is already grown out and LHR will have no effect on it).  Your new technician may want to see how your hair grows and then she/he may be planning to shave it immediately before the treatment.  That would work as long as you don't get red and bumpy from the shave as that may alter your results from the LHR as well.

I always advise my patients to shave 24 hours before their treatment.  If the hair is dark and course enough, I can still see where the hair is growing.  If the hair is very long, it can actually pick up the heat from the laser and damage the skin.  Also, the energy of the laser will be absorbed by to superficial hair and not be as effective on the follicle.
