Is a dermatologist administered 15%TCA+3% Glycolic Acid peel safe while trying to conceive?

I plan to have my second application of a 15%TCA+3% Glycolic Acid chemical peel in about a month, with my dermatologist. I’m currently trying to conceive. The appointment date falls around the date of my expected period (or no show period, depending). Is this peel safe while in the process of trying to get pregnant?

pretty much all peels can be used in pregnancy although some people say not to use salicylic acid or retinol.  while try to concieve there should be not issues but I find that cosmelan or enlighten peels do more than TCA/glycolic and these can be done at home (see link to emeragecosmetics.com).  you should also be dermarolling weekly with MTS roller and anteageMD ampules.  Best, Dr. Emer.

It is best to discuss your plans with your doctor but generally speaking elective application of chemicals is discouraged and thus withheld until after delivery and lactation.  There may be no studies proving harmful effects to an unborn child with the peels but that study would not be done since we exclude pregnant patients as study subjects.
