I do not give any restrictions after botox treatment in terms of skin care, exercise or massaging. The botox takes immediate effect on the muscles. Best, Dr. Emer.
It is recommended that you don't rub or touch the areas for 4 hours after injections. After that period is over you are free to do as you choose.
I would advise waiting 4 hours after your treatment, so that the Botoxhas time to be fully absorbed into the correct muscles, before resuming yourregular skin care regime.
Thank you for your question. You may exfoliate or use any skin product after your Botox injections. The only significant restriction is no exercise for 12-24 hours to prevent movement or dilution of the injections.Best of luck to you.
Hi TT. Just to be safe, we recommend not messaging or pressing on the treated area in any way for several hours after treatment. The chance of the product "migrating" and causing a side effect is not high but is possible. This is just a precaution.
If you massage and press the skin while exfoliating before the Botox has been taken up by the motor end plates, you might push the Botox somewhere where you don't want it to go. We think all the Botox is taken up jn the first hour, but to be safe we usually tell patients to avoid such maneuvers for four hours. Applying moisturizer should not be a problem.
You can shower and apply any form of cosmetic immediately after injection. rubbing and massaging are not to be done because of the potential of moving the botox around near the eyelid
I generally tell people not to massage the area or recline for the 4 hours following the injection in order to decrease the chance of possibly spreading the Botox to muscles not targeted for treatment. Many doctors do not even recommend this. You should be able to undergo exfoliation or microdermabrasion or similar treatment by the next day. Good luck.
Practically I would say you could do it immediately after the procedure. I guess that in theory you should wait about two hours before massaging the area...Have fun
In general I advise my patients not to massage or rub their face in the area treated for approximately 4 hours following the procedure. You can gently wash your face, apply moisturizer and makeup after the procedure, but I would recommend waiting for heavy exfoliation and massaging until at least 4 hours following the procedure. I hope this helps!
Botox, Dysport and Xeomin have no known affect on autoimmune diseases. Rarely they can illicit antibodies to their binding proteins but this does not have any clinical effect and they are not contraindicated in patients with "overactive" immune systems.
Thank you for your question. Please contact your injector to have this area assessed in person. All the best,
Botox can help to improve these lines, also known as lateral rhytids. A combination treatment of Botox and dermal filler in this area may be even more effective to help soften the lines in these areas.
