I typically advise my patients that they will notice signs of growth by three-and-a-half to four months following surgery, usually maxing out after 12 months. At 5-8 months after the procedure all transplanted grafts should be growing with visible hair above the skin.  The grafted hairs are shorter and thinner than the surrounding hairs.  Grafts with multiple hair shafts aren't always growing multiple shafts at six months.  The immature hairs have less visible impact at six months than they will at a year.   

It looks like you are already on your way to a nice result.You still have another 5-6 months of growth before you see the final result.Hang in there.

Your full density from your FUE will continue to develop up to about 1 year post surgery. However, if you know you want as much density as possible, I feel comfortable going back in surgically 6 months post op. 

At 6 1/2 months it is too early to see much results in some cases, so I would not yet be concerned.  I assume you have discussed this with your surgeon?FUE on typical African American hair can be a more technically challenging procedure, so it is particularly important that you do your research.

It takes 8-12 months to get your final results- at 6 1/2 months it is too early to draw any conclusions about what your final density will be. 

I tell my patients that they can expect to see 80% of the growth in 8 months after the hair transplant so be patient
