Answer: African American FUE Hair Transplant Results I have extensive experience treating African American patients with my patented Dr.UPunch, which is specifically engineered to transplant the tightly curled hair of afro-textured hair. I typically advise my patients that they will notice signs of growth by three-and-a-half to four months following surgery, usually maxing out after 12 months. However for Up to 18 months after surgery there could continue some improvement in growth, hair thickness, hair shine, and hair texture resulting in a better blend with the surrounding natural hair.

The grafted hairs are shorter and thinner than the surrounding hairs. Grafts with multiple hair shafts aren't always growing multiple shafts at six months. The immature hairs have less visible impact at six months than they will at a year.

I assume you have discussed this with your surgeon?FUE on typical African American hair can be a more technically challenging procedure, so it is particularly important that you do your research.
