Most plastic surgeons will have a pretty high threshold for doing cosmetic surgery on minors.
First and foremost, you need to get an assessment to make sure she’s at excellent candidate for the procedure and that this procedure is going to have a dramatic impact.
If the impact is going to be subtle, then most plastic surgeons will tell her to wait.
Just because she has dark circles doesn’t mean a lower eyelid blepharoplasty is going to make her look better.
You can always get an assessment, but she may have to wait for any procedure.
It’s not often I do cosmetic surgery on minors, but sometimes the indication is crystal clear.
Unless there’s an absolute clear risk to benefit ratio, I ask patients to wait.
In the instances when I’ve done cosmetic surgery on those who are minors, the indication was obvious to everyone around.
Without seeing pictures, we can’t begin to assess to see if the procedure is indicated in the first place.
Lower eyelid, blepharoplasty surgery is not straightforward and can lead to undesirable outcomes and pretty serious complications.
Provider selection is absolutely critical.
