Can I combine topical Finasteride (5% Min + 0.1% Fin) and oral Finasteride 1 mg 2 years post transplant?

Can I use 1ml of topical fin (5% Min + 0.1% Fin) in the morning and 1mg of oral Finasteride for efficacy? I'm on Oral Fin 1mg for past 2 years. My hair fall is  low density throughout scalp. When slight receding on both temples was noticed my dermatologist prescribed 1 mg Oral Finasteride, 2 years now there has been no further receding of hair line and hair fall is in control, but density has not increased.

It’s possible to combine both topical and oral Finasteride. I suggest a formal evaluation with your doctor and following their instructions.

In our practice, we have patients that use a combination with good results. However, I recommend that you follow the guidance of your physician. It is not possible to recommend the optimal treatment without seeing you and examining your scalp. You may need a biopsy to diagnose what may be the most effective.

We use oral only. Studies do not show that topical provides significant improvement in combination with oral.  However, it will not hurt using them in combination.
