Thank you for your question. Botox is a neurotoxin which blocks transmission of chemical signals between nerves and muscles. Male gynecomastia is caused by overgrowth of glandular breast tissue, usually from excessive hormonal stimulation. Treatment of gynecomastia that persists after removal of hormonal or medication related stimulus is surgical with either liposuction, direct excision or a combination of the two. There is no indication for Botox in the treatment of gynecomastia.
Unfortunately, Botox isn't a viable treatment for gynocomastia. I'd recommend consulting with an expert surgeon specializing in body and contouring procedures, as this would require the removal of the gland and extra fat.
Botox works by stopping nerves from signalling to muscles (or glands in some cases). This disruption in communication has no effect on the bulk tissue present in gynecomastia. It is best to see a plastic surgeon to discuss your surgical options. All the best!Dr. Brace
Thank you for sharing your question. Neither botox nor the other neuromodulators will help treat gynecomastia as the gold standard remains direct glandular excision and contouring liposuction. See an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon in consultation for the best recommendations.
Thanks for this question. Botox and Dysport are medications that temporarily relax muscles for a period of 3 to 4 months. Some people use these medication to relax the nipples, but I am not aware of it working to reduce gynecomastia. I do believe the best treatment for gynecomastia is a combination of direct excision and liposuction, but the treatment for you can only be planned out after an in-person examination. Best, Dr. ALDO :)
Unfortunately, Botox only works to relax muscles and would not be an effective treatment for gynecomastia. There are non-invasive laser treatments that are commonly performed as well as liposuction or complete excision for selected clients.
I would not recommend botox for treatment of gynecomastia. There are other options available to you however.
Hello Arunvaanan, thank you for your question. Unfortunately I'll have to agree with the other opinions regarding your question. I am not aware of any utility for Botox in treatment of gynaecomastia. There are a couple of options, most of which include surgery of some sort. I hope you have resolved your concerns regarding this question.
I am afraid there are only a few options. Traditionally I have always used VASER Liposuction with a pull-through technique to remove any residual gland. Recently we have seen success in treating pseudogynecomastia with Coolsculpting.
Thank you foryour question arunvaanan. Botox isa purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. Gynecomastia is not treated with Botox. A number of surgical and non-surgical options are available. Please consult witha doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
The gummy smile is more common than you realize. Injecting the oval-shaped muscle that circumscribes the mouth, in the portion that lays above the upper lip, is only successful in mild cases of the gummy smile. There is an important muscle that runs on each side of the nose...
So sorry to hear about your problems. I'm not a huge fan of Botox for platysmal bands, but it does seem to help some patients. You, unfortunately, seem to be a patient that it doesn't. The good news is that Botox can never cause a permanent problem. The issues you are having will resolve as the...
Thank you for your question. I believe your reaction is from what was used to prepare your skin for the Botox injections. I recommend contacting your treating physician for an evaluation. Also, keep monitoring your skin for any signs of an allergic reaction. Best of Luck!
