Nipple piercings after breast lift with implants?

I am having Breast Lift with Implants next Friday and I currently have nipple piercings that are nine months old. I purchased medical grade flexible piercing retainers to put in immediately after surgery. As long as the retainers are sterilized and kept clean, is this a safe decision? I can have the titanium jewelry autoclaved before I put them back in, but at what point should I put them back in?

It appears that you lost some pigment of the areola, which could be temporary or permanent. Go back and chat with your surgeon to see if there is anything he or she suggests to help. Also, do not use any further nicotine. I do not operate on anyone using any form of nicotine and many surgeons...
