My ps/ENT placed an oversized rib graft to correct my "boxer nose" (Photo)

Dear GreeksnoutIt is certainly difficult to go through an extensive surgery, just to be told the surgical plan has changed and now you need more surgery.In complex cases, like your, you should have a frank discussion with your surgeon about risks and benefits. In that discussion, your surgeons experience with your specific procedure and your risk for needing revision should be clear.From your previous post, it appears that the graft has moved. You don't mention how long ago the actual surgery was performed. I would make sure what you/he think is the graft is not swelling. I have only made a forehead incision to remove screws someone else had placed to secure implant. Otherwise, I do revisions through a rhinoplasty incision. If you are ok with having a scar on your forehead, it will likely decrease your recovery time as the nasal swelling would be minimized. In my experience, looking at your post op front view, your graft is not only placed too high, unless you are still very swollen, it is too broad for your face. If you are revising, why not narrow and shorten graft?You should discuss with your surgeon. I always suggest a second opinion when you are considering a revision by your surgeon. A surgeon Board certified by the American Board of Plastic surgery( or Facial Plastic surgery) who has years of experience with rhinoplasty would be helpful to you.

Neither the results nor the explanation is acceptable.  A scar on the forehead to approach a rib graft is not acceptable or the standard. Find a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon (American Board of Plastic surgery)for extensive revision surgery.
