At 19 is my hairline normal? Do I need to consult a dermatologist? (photos)

Question

Over the last couple years my hairline seems to have receded some in the temples region and seems to be a little thinner in the crown area. Does my hairline look normal or am I showing signs of male pattern baldness? I am currently using Lipogaine Hair Growth Stimulating All Natural Shampoo but don't seem to notice much of a difference after a month and a half of use. My father still has a mostly full head of hair at 49 so I'm not sure how that could be possible. Thanks

Receding hairline is not a hair loss because of ongoing process of androgenetic alopecia but  a simple juvenile type maturing of frontal hair line.  That is seen almost every young boys almost between 16-21 that have a very rounded hairline without recession in the corners.  Recession in the corners is a sign of mature pattern male frontal hair line.

Yes, it certainly is possible this represent some degree of early AGA.  Having a dad with balding puts you at increased risk to develop the condition but it is possible to develop even with a dad with full hair. It takes 9-12 months to know if treatments are working. 1.5 months is not long enough.

It looks like you are developing hairline recession and the best way to treat this is with the drug finasteride. See a doctor and get an examination and the drug to stop and possibly reverse it
