I am having revision for CC in both breasts. I had 325cc in each breast, under the muscle and a lift in March of this yr. Left dropped but CC caused malposition. Right almost didnt drop at all because of CC. Ps will put both into postion. But will i still have to wait (forever it seems) to drop and fluff all over again? Or will they just basically be where they should be this time around?
Answer: Drop and fluff When you remove the capsules and then replace the implants into the same pocket, you don't need to create more space for the implants. The muscle is also already stretched out to accommodate the implant volume. With that in mind, you will not "drop and fluff" all over again. You should look good from the start. The biggest risk that you face is that you are not really changing anything so there is a good possibility that you will develop another capsular contracture.

Answer: Position With revision surgery for capsules, once the capsule is released or removed, the implants are usually in the correct position. There is much less dropping and fluffing with revision surgery.

Answer: With revision for capsular contracture will I have to "drop and fluff" all over again? Much will depend on exactly what was done during the procedure. "Dropping and fluffing" (a process wherein breast implants round out the lower breast poles, and the breasts overall may may appear to be larger as breast implant "settle") may not necessarily occur with revisionary breast surgery. For example, if the breast implant capsules of the lower breast poles are incised (capsulotomy), than some breast implant movement ("settling") may be expected over the course of the first several months after surgery. On the other hand, if a complete capsulectomy is carried out, I would not expect "dropping and fluffing" to occur. Your plastic surgeon who will be your best resource when it comes to accurate assessment of concerns, advice, and meaningful reassurance. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with long-term.

Answer: Redo breasts augmentation Dear Carina, Front and side view pictures would have been helpful. There are 2 types of capsule contracture and they require different surgery:1. Benign capsule contracture. The scar is thin and pink. In that case capsulotomy (scar release) is the recommended procedure. If the implant was displaced laterally or inferiorly, capsulorrhaphy(internal bra) is required.2. Biofilm capsule contracture. The scar is thick and inflamed (angry red) with diffuse granulation tissue. In that case complete capsulectomy (scar excision) is required as well as new implant, to avoid or reduce the likelihood of recurrence of the capsule contracture . When done correctly, after the above mentioned procedures, usually, the fluffing of the implants is much faster and less painful. Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures of redo breasts augmentation in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice cleavage, perky, symmetrical and natural looking with nice upper pole slope. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Answer: Implant dropping Dear Caring1820, It depends on the surgery you will get. If your plastic surgeon chances your implants without pocket resection or changing the placement of implants, there is a chance that your implants will drop faster. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
