When can I get a massage, post mastectomy and reconstruction

Hello. I had a bilateral mastectomy in June 2016 and had the expanders removed and over the muscle implants put in place in December 2016. I am in no pain at all, my incisions have headled, and I am longing for a nice sweetish back massage. How long do I have to wait until I can book a massage?

Hi and Thanks for your question. Sorry for your mom having to go through this.  Even without fever, this may be an infection that needs to be addressed by a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Good Luck

Based on the technique used I could guide you but without an examination and plan it is not possible to help you better.  If you are Doing the surgery as a prophylactic measure then there is more time to discuss your cases and options.

Call your surgeon and notify him or her of these changes.  Your surgeon will want to know of any changes in your incisions especially with expanders in place. Best wishes.
