These rarely work, if you dont have irritation you can use it as much as you like. id follow the instructions on the device however. Best, Dr. Emer.
Themain thing to consider before you start your treatments is to have a consultwith a reputable dermatologist/facial/plastic surgeon. My practice has beenconsidered by Lumenis lasers to be a Lumenis laser center of excellence and Ihave been a "Luminary" (Lumenis physician teacher) for the last 10years. Not many physicians have these recognitions. I also help develop andteach my own Rosacea and Melasma protocols for the Lumenis IPL systems to otherphysicians and technicians. The most common visit that I have in my office from a home IPL hair removal device is a complication or burn from it. In my opinion they only heat up the skin and very little energy is really passed to the hair in order to treat it. My recommendation will be to follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the device, and consider professional treatments at a hair removal clinic with a board certified physician.Hope this helsp,Dr. Gus Diaz
IPL home devices are pretty silly. They aren't in the effective range of treatment so they very rarely do anything except heat up the skin. With that being said, I would recommend following the instructions on the manual if you do intend to use it. Overtreatment and burns from these devices are the #1 issue I see in my office. You cannot pluck the hairs because you need the follicles to be present or there is nothing for the IPL to target. "Thisanswer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot beheld as true medical advice, but only opinion. Seek in-person treatmentwith a trained medical professional for appropriate care."

Hello. There are two possibilities in your situation. The first is that you may have Melasma. Melasma is a common hormonally related condition that appears as brown spots on the cheeks, upper lip and forehead. In many cases it is mistaken for sun damage and treated with...
My office specializes in photofacials. We use the IPL Limelight and there is no clinical data to support a contraindication between IPL and birth control pills. Do not undergo IPL if you are taking photosensitizing meds. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
