Is an oculoplastic surgeon the same as oculofacial surgeon? (Photo)

Question

I have an upcoming appointment with a aptholmologist oculoplastic cosmetic surgeon to have the bump on my lower eyelid and droopy lids evaluated. I just want to make sure that I'm consulting with the correct doctor for my concerns. Thank you.

Oculoplastic surgery fellowships, which are two years in duration, provide a great deal of training in facial plastic surgery.  Oculoplastic surgeons trained in the past 20 years do many of their procedures on the face, mid face, and forehead.  For this reason many surgeons acknowledge this change by using the Oculofacial surgery name.
