Can I improve/ get rid of a lip laceration scar? (Photo)

Dear Drs, I had a hard fall about a year ago. I went face down first and my right tooth caused the tissue right above the right side of my upper lip, making it uneven. I got about 3-4 stitches at the hospital but had to get the wound opened up by a plastic surgeon due to an infection. I feel like he was aggressive with the stitching, leaving a weird almost dis coloring scar above my lip. It bothers me every day, I want to do something about it.
